the Mission

"artSPACE@16 is dedicated to making today's art accessible to the community-at-large. It provides an open ground for everyone to learn about contemporary expression through the arts. artSPACE@16 organizes multi-disciplinary events. These include exhibitions, forums, acoustic music performances, poetry readings, art space initiatives and other collaborations in the community. By way of these events, artSPACE@16 seeks to:

play a vital role in establishing an artists community in Malden
strengthen the role of the arts in the community
celebrate the spirit of creativity
provide support among fellow artists
share exhibition opportunities
network for future collaborations
contribute to the community-at-large in a creative form
engage the artistic community and general public

artSPACE@16 hopes that its long-term endeavors will encourage a spirit of partnership between the artists, the public, the private and the City to emphasize the importance of the integration of art and community. We encourage everyone to experience today's art starting in our homes, our neighborhood and community centers. Adding these often overlooked venues to our visiting list of the standard commercial galleries and art museums can result in a rewarding experience."
